35 Fulmar Road, Bedford, MK41 7JZ

Many people notice tension building gradually around the shoulders, between the shoulder blades or at the base of the neck.

This appointment gives focused attention to those areas using a combination of flowing massage, kneading, compression and more detailed work where appropriate.

Pressure can range from gentle to firm and will be adapted to your comfort.

This treatment may suit you if you:

  • spend long hours at a computer

  • drive regularly

  • feel that your shoulders are constantly raised or tight

  • carry bags, equipment or children

  • experience general upper-body stiffness

  • want regular maintenance between longer treatments

  • are new to massage and would like to begin with a shorter session

What can be covered?

The treatment will focus primarily on:

  • upper and mid-back

  • shoulder muscles

  • around the shoulder blades

  • the back and sides of the neck

Depending on time and your needs, some attention may also be given to the lower back, arms or upper chest.

This is a focused wellbeing treatment and is not a substitute for assessment or treatment of persistent headaches, neurological symptoms or unexplained neck pain.

Your first appointment includes a short consultation so I can understand your needs, preferences and any health considerations.

During your treatment

You will be given privacy to undress to your level of comfort. You will remain covered with towels throughout the treatment, with only the area being worked on uncovered.

You do not need to talk during the massage if you don't want to. Quiet is always welcome.

Massage should always feel like something being done with you, not to you.

Before beginning, we will agree:

  • the areas to be treated

  • any areas you would like avoided

  • your preferred pressure

  • whether you are comfortable with the proposed position

  • what you would like from the session

You can ask me to reduce pressure, change position, avoid an area or stop the massage at any time.

You will remain appropriately covered throughout, and only the area being treated will be uncovered.

After your treatment

It is possible to feel mild tenderness or increased awareness in the treated area afterwards, particularly if the muscles have been tense for some time.

This should not feel severe. Please tell me during the appointment if pressure feels sharp, unpleasant or difficult to tolerate.

Gentle shoulder movement and regular breaks from sitting can help you retain the sense of ease after your treatment.
